You just try to get some computer hardware through foreign customs sometime! The import tax can be more than the cost of the item and it can sit in customs for months! If someone has an exclusive distributors right in a country the hardware/software may be returned postage due (if you are lucky) or impounded (never to be seen again). The point poor Rib is trying to make is that Linux should be able to survive a power outage and a fsck. I know my Banyan servers can! Linux should be able to as well!
