Many thanks - that got it! - had to do full reinstall mind you - I always
said no to emulate - but it was still set to yes, so I edited some files
where I spotted the error, and it still would not go away!
I notice it works properly under gnome - well really properly, and also that
Nestcape blissfuly ignores it most of the time. Mid button is fine.
Wish with web browsers they would allow the focussed window to scroll,
rather than forcing you into the gutter every time to use it - kinda makes
it almost pointless again! ;-)
