It's quite possible. kmyfirewall runs only after KDE initializes so I seriously doubt it's doing you any good. Unless of course you don't start the network at boot. BTW if iptables is running at boot, and if you haven't flushed the rules, the fire walling should be initialized when iptables loads using the previous rule set. If it's not something is configured somewhere. - From a quick Google search: An IPTables based firewall configuration tool for the KDE Desktop Environment running on Linux based systems. and: http://kmyfirewall.sourceforge.net/ http://km0838.keymachine.de/~kmyfirewall/index.php?kat=faq That's about all I know about the software, sorry. It's also probably all I'll ever know about it for the simple reasons that I have a radically edited set of rules that I use for iptables that is specific to my environment, and the only "Fire Wall" I even try to use is shorewall. That's just because it's the default in Mandrake installs and if I don't know what to do with the glitches I'm doing my customers a disservice.
