First, please turn off the HTML when sending to this list. Many of us use
text-only mail readers, and the HTML makes it nearly impossible to read.

LILO is the LInux LOader. That is the software can install the needed code in
the MBR to allow you to make a choice of which OS you want to run. If you are
using BootMagic, you will need lilo installed in the Linux partition. That is
because lilo still needs to load the linux kernel when you boot Linux.

I use LILO as my boot manager, so I always see it run at startup, however I
think lilo works transparently when used only to load Linux and not as a boot
manager. If this is wrong, some one feel free to jump in and correct me.
