[newbie] Modem

Thanks to all who helped me with my modem woes.  I'm online and actually
sending this from Linux.  Thanks again for all the help.

Now I'm having the same problem as someone else did earlier.  Whenever
I'm connected, I can't open any programs.  I saw this problem, but I
don't know if anyone had a solution.  If anyone does, I'll will be very
grateful.
