[newbie] Need help

Hi, i am experiencing problems with my soundcar OPL3 Yamaha and my modem
UsRobotics 56k Internal V90.It seems that in my sound card finds it but even
if i changed the setings it sstill doesn't work....i put another card and
the sound is horrible ... or no sound at all.
For my modem i use the command minicom or setserial for the port and it
still doesn't find it ... What should i do ?Please answer me soon !!!!!
