You can not update KDE using the update option. If you are interested in
updating to KDE 2 you can find info at http://us.mandrakesoft.com/~molnarc
KDE 2 is not an update it is a "new" program.
The best way to find out what the update will do is to connect to the
internet and run Mandrake Update. Off the top of my head I can only remember
2 of the updates, cdrecord, and an upgrade to the .16 kernel but there were
several others.
The udate option is used to address any bugs/improvements in currently
installed apps occuring between the release of distros.
