I'm not sure.  I seem to be able to hammer the heck outta this thing without
problems (other than the obvious slowdown).

Nutscrape is another story.  That seems to be the only application that
regularly screws my machine...

However, when seti dumped core, I was at the console (no X).  There was
nothing else of substance running at the time.  I was actually in bed when
it happened...
