A user's stats are generally quite important to him, and a 40% increase in process time is very significant. For me, if I'm running it 24/7, it makes a difference of 2.5 work units a week. A less scrupulous user would be likely to hold off the upgrade for as long as possible, just to give his stats a boost over the other users...
