hd?=ide-scsi to your append-line.
? is the drive letter for the CDRW device. Don't forget to rerun lilo.
In Grub /boot/grub/menu/lst I added added it for hdc like this:
title linux
kernel (hd0,4)/boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda5 hdc=ide-scsi
