Javy, You got a good price on those rear shocks and fork springs. According to
Dennis and several others, the Honda Corporation made some interesting
decisions regarding cost containment...stayed with the rear drum and cheap
suspension but also featured the running lights in the front, the helmet lock,
and the locking gas cap. The self adjusting valves are a real plus as well. Go
figure. If you experience a noticeable difference do let us all know. Might be
worth the extra bucks as I, like you, love the ergonomics of this bike. If the
suspension was only slightly improved, I could ride this bike even more
comfortably all day long. The only things that come close are the big and heavy
sport tourers (Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki), Kawasaki's former ZRXs, Yamaha's FZ
1s, and Suzuki's V-Stroms and Bandits. I guess you could also look at the BMWs,
Ducati's, and mid-control Harley Dyna's but nothing comes close to the
Nighthawk for value and reliability. I am too old to lean too far over and too
into handling to lean too far back. Keep us all posted. Barge

  Hi Barge,
I paid $250 for the rear shocks, and $70 for the fork springs. I really hope
to feel a big difference. I took the wife recently for a spin I ask her how did
she felt it (after not riding with me for a long time). She said it felt the
same, horrible. For me it is been recently much worse than before, but I hope
it is not just pure paranoia. With the fork springs I hope to reduce the diving
while stopping, which I think it's too much, especially when riding two up. If
this doesn't work I will have to look for a different bike.

  Javier.

    Javier,

How much did those bad boys set you back? Eager to hear how they perform.
My rear shocks have similar issues, particularly when riding over uneven or
patched up street pavement. They don't dampen very well. Odd how Honda tried to
control costs on the more recent NHs. Barge

The seller I bought them from only had them on chrome and he offered a
good price. The all black is a project for the future, somewhere in the
future...
