         I don't have a 750, I have a 450 NH - but I believe the same
thing applies - my cruising RPM was about 4-4500 RPM.
         I believe you'll find that there isn't much power above the
5-6000 range so there isn't a reason to run up there.
         In general the only thing you lose by running the engine at a
higher RPM is gas mileage - as long as you aren't running the engine
up to or near the red line, you should be fine.
