Slight correction: people will still be allowed into terminals but only
those with boarding passes (tickets) and proper i.d. will be allowed pass
the security posts.

Craig is correct. The analogy may not be perfect, but the point is. In
this country, we sacrifice safety/security for convenience. If we strip
searched everyone and everything that got near an airplane, it would be
nearly impossible to sneak something on. But that's not convenient. This
will change though - no curb check in, only passengers allowed in the
terminals, no carry on luggage, no pick-up/drop-off at ticketing, etc.
These are losses of convenience that Americans are willing to make right
now. I think that airports are going to start looking like a scene out of
Lebanon.

I fail to follow your analogy, there is no such thing as "secure"

I sit here, watch TV, and see people everywhere asking, "How could this
happen in America to Americans." Then I see my users bitching because they
have to use an 8 character password with number and letters. Don't they
know it's that kind of thinking that brought down those buildings? When
will people learn that they cannot be secure without inconvienance?

When someone complains about complex passwords tell them, "That's the kind
of thinking that causes airplanes to crash into buildings!"
