Yeah... it was just a thought that came up when I read the original question. :D Not that I have a need for anything like that these days... our only tape drive is on the AS/400 and it's an LTO1. :D

I would think that DVD/BR wouldn't be the answer considering you can get 4TB on a hard drive these days. You can fit a ton of LTO1 tapes on one of those... LTO1 may be read by an LTO3 drive. Our LTO3 tapes supposedly can be read by our new LTO5 drive...
