In the interest of livening up the list a little bit. :-)
How does one go about starting a RPG publishing business?>>
I'm in a little bit of a hurry, so I'll catch the quick ones...:D
<<What is the best program to use to develop on?>>
I write in Word and DTP in Quark.
<<What file format do you need the final product to be so that it can be
printed out?>>
Whatever your printer wants. A lot of the ones I am talking to really appreciate
getting final output in .PDF format as it reduces compatibility problems at their end.
<<Who is the best at printing it out for you?>>
Depends on the format I'm printing...Whitehall is good for pefect binding. Morgan does
small saddle-stich books. And Separacolor does great flyers.
<<What are the key words in the printing industry that you need to know?>>
"I am willing to pay for what I print."
<<Who do you get in touch with to get an ISBN number?>>
www.rrbowker.com
<<Who can you get to distribute it for you?>>
Talk to Eric Rowe at Wizard's Attic. He should be able to help you out on this.
