Here is another thing about printing.

I agree with John about looking beyond your town. You
need a commercial printer to get competitive rates
(down to about $1 per 32 page saddle stitched book).
And they will do a run of 3000 units for you. I would
say the way d20 is doing, 3000 units is a good first
run.

But dont forget to check where your
distributor/fulfillment house is located. Because you
have to pay to have the printed material shipped to
your fullfulment house. So lets say printer A charges
you $3000 to print the 3000 copies, but it is $500 to
ship it to your distributor where as company B charges
you $3200 to print 3000 copies and only $200 to ship
it to your distributor/fulfillment house.
