And although Ryan no longer speaks for Wizards IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER, I
trust his interpretation as a pretty good barometer for what Wizards'
interpretation will be. He set the tone; and right now, it looks to this
outsider like they're still following that tone. They'll eventually veer far
from his interpretation, but that will take time.

So when Ryan says, "You're not within the d20 STL, and they don't want you
to do that," I would consider what he says very seriously. It's a strong
indicator that you're not within the d20 STL, and they don't want you to do
that.
