www.ethereal.com

I got it to all compile, just using the configure scripts that
came with it. It erred, however, at linking itself, not finding
a library (libwiretap) that it shipped with. I was sleepy at that
point and stopped.

Try dloading it and building it. If you get the link error, it
should be fairly obvious what to do to fix it.

Ah, so. Yeah that can be a problem with programs that mess around
with raw devices and interior kernel structures.

If you're already over the learning curve with ethereal, then trying
what I said above may be your solution. I assume you're a C programmer,
familiar with building things and with the typical glitches that
can occur. If not, let me know, I'll see what I can do.

etherape did work OK with the patches mentioned. I needed to get into
the "preferences" and twiddle a little before the display made any
sense at all.

Good luck!
