First: Thanks for giving this information in the first place. Note my other email (just send) about how to create a good experience in just answering one of the attempts. > The problem is that after Jitterbug and RT failing > horribly (have just one bot which fills your database with 10000 tickets > and both systems are effectively dead and unusable -- RT even nearly > impossible to easily resurrect at all) we really hate mostly all those > systems and the way they are implemented. Now to the technical point: If you are in search of a tracker system, (which I did not know before) there might be possibilities to help. I have experiences with running Request-Tracker(1), gforge and Roundup. For Intevation, Kolab-Konsortium (KK) and FSFE we are mainly using Roundup now and I am quite happy with the way how it is implemented. For Gforge we use the integrated tracker as the integration still is better, ideally I would want a Roundup module for it, to. Setting up roundup is a matter of half a day (depending on MTA and daemon system), most of the time you spend with modelling how you want to use it, so you can add 1.5 days to customisation at some time afterwards. It could be a contribution of the KK to set up a tracker for you, if you precisely now what you want, have a machine ready and so on. Another idea would be to use a tracker from system hoster until you have your own tracker in place. I can offer Intevation's gforge right away for wiki and tracking purposes. It is a matter of registering and some learning of how to use the integrated trackers (based on Bugzilla) and wiki (php based wiki).
