Yes, I've glanced over the User guide for 10 min and the Email interface was the one I was most interested in. I want that the system can be fully controlled via Email, because I hate having to click around in a Web interface. > Another interesting thing (I do not have personal experience with): > http://www.edgewall.com/trac/ > Trac is an enhanced wiki and issue tracking system > for software development projects. > Trac uses a minimalistic approach Well, Trac certainly is ultra-cool as it is very similar to CVSTrac (which I like very much and is what you see on http://cvs.openpkg.org/), but it needs Python and the Subversion Python API (which is a real PITA to build and where we already failed twice with out OpenPKG "subversion" package). What I'm searching for is a small little issue tracking system which neither requires the usual myriad of software pieces, is not implemented in an esoteric language, can be 100% controlled via Email and optimally stores the messages as raw mails on an IMAP server (and just stores meta information in a companion database). Why? Because usually issue tracking for us is not a dedicated task. Instead one starts a dicussions on a mailing list or in a private conversation and at some point one of the participants wants that the conversions is _ADDITIONALLY_ tracked in the issue tracking system for further investigation. I usually want to login in the Web interface only for searching and to allow me to reference the discussion thread via an URL. But I want the system to be as closely integrated with the mailing lists as possible. Our old Jitterbug was very good here, but unfortunately its Web interface was too boring to most people (especially when you have a few hundred messages in it you cannot find things again easily).
