I don't think pcsclite v2.0 really describes what Alon is trying to create: If 
I understood correctly he wants to create a new layer *below* the then new 
pcsclite (so that pcsclite 2.0 will be just another client to Alon's 
framework).

But that's the point, isn't it? If the new framework is to be used by OpenCT, 
PC/SC and possibly other frameworks the API *needs* to be somewhat stable...

As far as I know from reading the postings on this list the new framework 
isn't going to be an internal interface of libpcsclite but rather a framework 
for at least 3 existing APIs.

That kinda defeats the idea of an API to be used also by other projects...
