Eh? When did I make a critical comment of it? I just
said that is not what I am looking for because I also
do not use RHEL subscriptions whether now or in my
previous job. I have been using tools that come with
Fedora and Centos that provide for update management.
Needless to say, Ubuntu and Debian likewise have
similar if not better tools in this regard.

That is not my problem. I would not bother about this
if I was more than happy to drop in a DVD or a bunch
of CDs to 'upgrade' each box

Have you ever ever used up2date or yum in your
Fedora/Centos/RHEL systems you managed before?
