Hi, I've just got a couple of Supermicro PDSME boards to build a couple of Solaris boxes to use as NAS devices.
These boards have 2 x Intel single-port 82573 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controllers. I've installed SXCE b77 on one of these boards and no driver seems to be loaded for these NICs. prtconf -pv shows two Ethernet controllers: Node 0x000020 assigned-addresses: 82050010.00000000.ed800000.00000000.00020000.81050018.00000000.00008000.00000000.00000020 reg: 00050000.00000000.00000000.00000000.00000000.02050010.00000000.00000000.00000000.00020000.01050018.00000000.00000000.00000000.00000020 compatible: 'pciex8086,108c.15d9.108c.3' + 'pciex8086,108c.15d9.108c' + 'pciex8086,108c.3' + 'pciex8086,108c' + 'pciexclass,020000' + 'pciexclass,0200' + 'pci8086,108c.15d9.108c.3' + 'pci8086,108c.15d9.108c' + 'pci15d9,108c' + 'pci8086,108c.3' + 'pci8086,108c' + 'pciclass,020000' + 'pciclass,0200' model: 'Ethernet controller' power-consumption: 00000001.00000001 devsel-speed: 00000000 interrupts: 00000001 subsystem-vendor-id: 000015d9 subsystem-id: 0000108c unit-address: '0' class-code: 00020000 revision-id: 00000003 vendor-id: 00008086 device-id: 0000108c pcie-capid-pointer: 000000e0 pcie-capid-reg: 00000001 name: 'pci15d9,108c' Node 0x000021 assigned-addresses: 82060010.00000000.ed900000.00000000.00020000.81060018.00000000.00009000.00000000.00000020 reg: 00060000.00000000.00000000.00000000.00000000.02060010.00000000.00000000.00000000.00020000.01060018.00000000.00000000.00000000.00000020 compatible: 'pciex8086,109a.15d9.109a.0' + 'pciex8086,109a.15d9.109a' + 'pciex8086,109a.0' + 'pciex8086,109a' + 'pciexclass,020000' + 'pciexclass,0200' + 'pci8086,109a.15d9.109a.0' + 'pci8086,109a.15d9.109a' + 'pci15d9,109a' + 'pci8086,109a.0' + 'pci8086,109a' + 'pciclass,020000' + 'pciclass,0200' model: 'Ethernet controller' power-consumption: 00000001.00000001 devsel-speed: 00000000 interrupts: 00000001 subsystem-vendor-id: 000015d9 subsystem-id: 0000109a unit-address: '0' class-code: 00020000 revision-id: 00000000 vendor-id: 00008086 device-id: 0000109a pcie-capid-pointer: 000000e0 pcie-capid-reg: 00000001 name: 'pci15d9,109a' Now, it is my understanding that these NICs should be supported "out-of-the-box" by the e1000g driver, but I could be wrong. Any idea how to get my NICs working? Thanks, R. _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list opensolaris-discuss@opensolaris.org
