Hello, thanks for your fast answer.

That is, does Solaris use the > "ahci" or the "pci-ide" driver? The value Osol <> Vista is with IDE mode. I changed to AHCI but where forced to reinstall OSol therefore I don't have yet an value for CIFS shares. But I measured already the local copy between two ZFS formatted HD's attached to the atom. The perfomance was slightly better now then before now 20MB/s. So I didn't expect much effect on CIFS performance. > Are you accessing lots of small files? > Or a few big files? I tried with 500MB files. > What filesystem performance do you get when > performing local zfs filesystem reads/writes? I didn't knew the fancy dd commands, so I copied data from one to another attached HD both with ZFS there I head 20MB/s. The other hint's and tests I will do today in the evening. > Mb/s write for zfs? > Or 16Mb/s [... from Windows Vista (16Mb/s write and > 6,7Mb/s read)] ? To Clarify: Vista -- OpenSolaris ZFS write 16Mb/s read 6,7Mb/s Vista -- FreeBSD ZFS write 9Mb/s read 6,5Mb/s Vista -- FreeBSD UFS write 30Mb/s read 40Mb/s Therefore I think either my HW is too slow for ZFS or something is completely misconfigured.
