I didnt try that out yet, however, I took the osgviewer Qt as template
and modified it slightly.
Maybe even a complication with Qt, hmm.
What source code yields in the bin/osgviewer.exe so that I could
rebuild it with debug?

Hmmm, that's still not very impressive, no. You mention you are building
a Qt app with OSG. Do you get these results with that application, or
with OSG's standard osgviewer?
Are the results the same?
