Do you read these links before you post them? "Pursuant to the terms of the Fair Labor Standards Amendments of 1989,43 the rights and protections under the Fair Labor Standards Act apply to employees of the House and to the Office of the Architect of the Capitol.44 However, employees of the House who are designated as executive, administrative, or professional employees are exempt from this Act. House employees who are covered are entitled to the remedies and enforcement procedures spelled out in the Fair Employment Practices Resolution, which is codified in House Rule LI." The exemption for executive, administrative, or professional employees is the same one that applies to the private sector. > LAWS THAT APPLY TO PARTS OF > THE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH > Equal Pay Act of 1963 This would be the Equal Pay Act that isn't the same as the minimum wage law we're talking about? At any rate, you're trying to shift the argument to Congress giving themselves special perqs, and there's no question they do that in general. The point is, does the health care bill give them special rights to keep their existing health care, and the answer is absolutely not: *Everybody* has the right to keep their existing health care under that bill. Everybody. It's as plain as day in the text of the bill if you read it. Frankly, at this point, I don't think you're actually reading anything you're talking about, so I'm done. -Patrick _______________________________________________ OSX-Nutters mailing list | [email protected] http://lists.tit-wank.com/mailman/listinfo/osx-nutters List hosted at http://cat5.org/
