So - order a phone line and try again?

If it is an consolation, I live in West End which has special South
Brisbane Fibre (Telstra Velocity). When you order fibre they come out,
instal fibre and the NTU.

The tech then plugs a butinski into the fibre NTU to check he has dial tone
and then tells me the service is installed.

Only in Telstra land is a new fibre service tested by dial tone on an NTU.

(oh and when he left, I had no Internet - that takes another week).
