We allow and encourage food and drink as desired, unless specific instructions from obstetrician otherwise (for the high risk ones who are looking very likely to become NELUSC)
 
Inductions are treated same as spontaneous labourers in this regard

Women are allowed water, black tea, that kind of thing.  Whether epidural or not. Inductions are more strict though, water only.  I had to beg a doc to let my labouring woman have a barley sugar...
