from my experience customers want handhelds. if there are only smartphones
available they would rather use tablet pc then smartphone. in company i am
working for palmos version was killed by palm decision to stop handheld
production - so far everyone moved to windows mobile or to tablets.

reason is 1) battery life 2) if they have to pay big price they prefer tablet
then phone 3) people (users) already have phones and they don't like idea of
getting another one

iphone and so far android is for fanaticts and gadget addicts, especially when
you consider that their value is much lower if you don't have internet
connection and internet connection from phone is still something what maybe 75%
of user doesn't have and doesn't care about (i know in usa its completely
opposite, but for example in usa nokia is almost unknown while here 99% i know
has nokia... and yes, nokia dumphone..)
