Bounce messages? You mean real server bounces or do you mean the messages the listserv sends you when *IT* receives a bounce *from your mail server*?
The WARNING message from Maclaunch sent when it's list mail is (allegedly) being bounced by my ISP mailserver.
My ISP rep has told me the PCI list gets periodically blacklisted by SpamCop from time to time due to complaints
I don't think this is true (that it's due to complaints). I've got a couple of customers that use SpamCop and they complain a LOT about SpamCop suddenly bouncing all sorts of emails - mailing lists, USENET dups, private emails etc. IOW, I think SpamCop's pre-scan service is wayfoo.
I have complained to NetLink Services, my ISP, about SpamCop being overzealous and it's filtering triggers way too stringent that its taking down legitimate stuff like this PCI list mail. On the flip side, for years I have received ZERO spam. In the past year a few spams have faked their way through but I could count them on one hand. According to my ISP rep, whenSpamCop blacklists pci-powermacs its a temporary 2 days to1 week thing and never permanent.
Since SpamCop is the most widely used spam service by ISPs
According to who, SpamCop? LOL
Check around and see. I have a high speed provider (WideOpenWest cable, formerly Ameritech, which I will probably solely start using soon after seeing how my email works out with them) and it also uses SpamCop.
Between not answering bounce messages and not getting list mail, eventually I get dropped by the Maclaunch server and must resubscribe.
Maybe you need to get a real email address from a reliable provider, sans SpamCop, and use it to recieve mailing list stuff.
- Dan.
My email address is "real" and, apart from this issue with the list mail, NetLink has been extremely reliable for the past5 years. ZERO spam (and I'm not even using the BILL NEIL SOLUTION!) But having my digests bounced periodically because of SpamCop is a problem that is really becoming annoying. As a test, I am re-subscribed to the list under both ISP accounts which use Spamcop to see if the results are the same.
