[PCI] PM 7600 can a vrambank go bad ?

my processorupgraded PM 76OO (sonnett 350 mhz/320 mb ram/ata66card) 
has started to display less than millimeter sized grains of 
lightgreen at millions of colours in some pics both inside photoshop 
and viewers aswell as on the desktop, and inside some other apps 
panels aswell, I know about the processor upgrade flickers in 
photoshop,I had that,  but this is a new and novel behaviour, if I 
switch to 1000 colors it goes away. system is 9.1 & 9.2.2
