The reason you got little response outside of those, is you really didn't explain what you're wanting to do? If you are talking about building a virtial studio? That isn't something you can do on the cheap... Dedicated midi cards and FW/USB midi solutions aren't cheap. They seldom to never show up used and that was one the things you asked about. So it's no so much that nobody has done it but that the idea of tight budget and virtual studio aren't exactly compatible.

i said I wanted to " do " serious sound work. I am in a course of study and having my own unit at home would help.
I didn't think of it as such. Vitual studio would fill the bill though. Yeah, That's the ticket !

A New Terratech Phase 22 sells on eBay for $ 100.00 That would do very well for my purposes. But I would need an 800 MHz accelerator too. Those cost about # 200.00 used. There have been 2 on the swap list recently.Whether it is serious or not only those
" in the know " would know. So I asked this list in order to contact these folks. Remember my question regards cards for Power PCI Macs like we
talk about on this list.
They seldom show up used ? Sound cards are on the swap list in ' runs ' just like all other parts.
I'll just have to do my research without recommendations of cards to look for.
