Some "good news" after all! I found that I could open Mozilla & that
evidently, I do have a complete, workable copy on my HD. The "home" page
turned out to be basically an "ad" for Foxfire, but it has a search feature,
so I think I am OK on that one after all. It just has such a different
format than I was used to with Internet Explorer, that I thought I did not
have it. Duh!!! Talk about being in a rut.

As to iCab, perhaps I did not do the "drag & drop" thing. It shows up on the
HD, but I get the message to the effect that "could not open because the the
the original application that created it could not be found". I'll work on
that one later.

I do so appreciate the responses I have had on this one.

Thanks,
Ginny
