I run such a hd in my 7300 with an adaptor and it is fine and
stable now. It was not with the adaptor that came with it! And I
had a devil of a job figuring it. I replaced it with another
adaptor and still could not figure how to terminate it AND it
work proper on the same chain. There are jumpers on the drive
for "active termination" but no jumpers to do with termination
on the adaptor and I still do not know why the jumper on the
drive did not settle the issue. In the end I got it good by
putting in an additional 4G HD (which I knew could be terminated
real good, no fancy adaptors on it to interfere) and this 4G
acts as my terminator (and I suppose as an extra back up). Very
stable arrangement indeed. Really good. BTW I partinioned into 2
equal bits. The problem was getting it to work with the CD ...
Now it is is fine.

The one I have can be run in supposedly faster manner with a 80
to 68 adaptor on a PCI SCSI card like the U2B or an ATTO one...
I was not impressed and freed up my precious PCI slots by
putting it back on the on-board SCSI chain..
