ID is different to position on chain... You can have many
different IDs on the end. "end of chain" is physical end, last
device and independent thing to ID.

I had my 18G in an external box too with an active terminator
and it was "sort of ok", often would not mount but was easily
fixed with scsi probe 5 each time it happened. Still, it was not
the best.

I know where the jumpers are, I *think* one should jumper
something but I still don't know what to do! What seems
reasonable does not work! (As I say, it is fine in the middle of
a chain with another HD acting as end... Curious thing but...

Yes, I did think of this and it is a good thought Lars. But it
did not seem to improve things
either when i tried it. Curiouser and curioser!
