It sounds as if either 1) your laser is going bad or is 2) dirty.  Its
not burning as firmly as it should and the plasticity of the disk is
altering just enough that it becomes unreadable.  You can get a CD
cleaner disk at many music stores and some computer stores as well as
office supplies.
