Check this company out  http://www.cdrom-prod.com/software.html  they make
some utilities to recover unreadable discs.  There are trial (demo)
downloads. I use the CDR diagnostic.Unfortunately they no longer have fully
functional downloads  If the data is critical it may be a good idea to use a
file compare utility.   A freeware file compare is here
