Thanks for the info so far. I did'nt know it was connected with Cleansweep. I do have it on the computer but it is just left to get on with its job. The fault has occured a couple of times now after the computer has been off overnight etc . Last night I used it to delete a prog. As stated the computer opens up in what appears to be safe mode and the only way I have been able to restore it has been to use a earlier restore point. Thanks
