I changed my Control Panel icon in XP to the standard 98 one without
problem.
I just made the change in the registry here.
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}\DefaultIcon
Just a matter of entering the ico path.
