Something in Quark 6/OSX embeds a ton of image data (useful or otherwise)
into the PDF, both in the Export to PDF command and in the PDF via distiller
option in the Print tree.

Thanks for the tips on Acrobat, though. An extra step, but an effective
workaround nonetheless.
