I haven't made all the compromises that PDF/X file conversions require but, then again, my vendors and publications don't require it yet. I suppose "safest" and "industrical strength" for me now is PDFs that are importable in Quark and that will survive RIPping from the greatest number of print vendors possible. JAWS produced PDFs worry me because of their bloat. There are a lot of old RIPs out there. > >> I haven't found anything comparable to the Create Acrobat PDF >> shortcut I used to use in Mac OS 9.2 > > What's wrong with printing to "Adobe PDF" in Mac OS X & > Acrobat 6? That's the exact equivalent of "Create Adobe PDF" in Mac > OS 9 (ie. print to PS->Distiller->PDF). I do that already but I am not getting the background Distilling nor the automatic booting of Acrobat 6 that I used to. Are you saying that I should be experiencing those features, too, with Adobe PDF? If so, maybe I need to reinstall 6. Thanks Leonard. -- C.
