I've been staying out of this one for the most part but I must agree with Bruce here. The Date Function, while it may be handy for some, is sort of pointless in my books. The Contax G2 data back gave a lot more information - exposure info for example - that may be more useful and it imprinted it between frames (IIRC). That would be something a lot more useful than knowing the date of the image as far as I'm concerned.
I don't ever recall talking to anyone who was purchasing a camera that the date function was going to be a "make or break" item.
