I'll add my 2¢ I actually like the second picture better. When I first saw the first picture there was something about the dynamic between the husband and wife that just didn't feel right to me. I still can't put my finger on it but I know it makes me uncomfortable.
Also, concerning soft focus. I have always liked it better on larger formats then 35mm. Butch Each man had only one genuine vocation - to find the way to himself. Hermann Hesse (Demian)
