Thanks, Steve,

Like you, I thought of the aspect ratio. For that reason I did try cropping a bit off the top, but it didn't look right to me. The bike didn't have enough room in the frame. It dominated too much, and that's not what I wanted.

If I had to shoot it over? Well, I've shot that shot lots of times already! This one is the one I've been most satisfied with.

How would I change it? I'd like the bike to have a bit more room below it. I'd like a bit more car in the frame. Even better, I'd like the car closer to the cyclist. Or maybe more cars in the frame. I'd like the cyclist to be looking straight ahead, or at the camera, or at least be able to see his face. I'd like the cyclist's head to be the sharpest part of the image, not his courier bag as is the case now.

I'll keep shooting these guys and girls as they go by, and we'll see what comes of it.

I haven't taken many "bike portraits" lately - shots of bike owners standing next to their steeds. Must concentrate on that tomorrow. It's supposed to be sunny and mild (+10C), so it should be a good day for it.

Thanks again,
frank

That's cool. It's very Frank :-) If it were mine, I'd crop off the top a bit, but that's probably my aspect-ratio issues getting the better of me. ;-) If you were shooting it again, how would you do it differently?
