Oh, at some point someone brought up the pentax 300 f4.5 as an example of a lens meant to be used without a tripod collar, and I was just saying that people have complained extensively about the lack of a tripod collar. Although its apparently a fine lens otherwise.
-el gringo Not sure who wrote this, but....... I think it was a Tamron lens, not a Pentax at the start of this thread, and a 300mm f/ 5.6, which isn't an overly big or heavy lens.
