PENTAX DSLRS DO NOT SUPPORT OPEN APERTURE METERING or ANY AE MODES with the majority of PENTAX lenses in existance that fit it! (MOST PENTAX bayonet mount lenses lose key lens features on these cameras due to lack of the cam sensors in the bodies).
Lets see, K/M lenses were made for some 7 years then production discontinued, A lenses and beyond (which offer open aperture metering) have been made for some 22 years. Just on production time alone, you are going to have to go a long way to prove that one John.
