Based on my own admittedly narrow experience, most blue collar folks (myself included) just want to be left alone. Many have a strong libertarian bent, even though most have nothing to do with the Libertarian party. In rural areas of the Midwest they tended to vote Republican. In the cities they'll usually vote Democratic.
