I dont have any medium format lens tests in my bookmarks
but I saved this one a while back:

http://www.hevanet.com/cperez/testing.html

These are some of the worlds finest and
some very expensive 4x5 LF lenses.
I dont see any that match 35mm's best or even
Pentax's best 35mm lenses. This contradicts
your "all really good lenses are essentially the same
with regards to absolute resolution" theory.
There is nothing to suggest that MF would be
exactly like 35mm but then somehow everything
changes when you reach LF lenses. I say generally the MF
lenses fall somewhere in between the 35mm and
LF lenses in terms of absolute resolution based
on these things and also based on experience.
I am not exactly sure why it's this way but
it sure seems to be the case...

So you didn't bother to look at the resolution numbers for the Hassy,
Rolleiflex and Mamiya lenses I take it? They appear to be every bit as
high as those for the 35mm lenses from Pentax.
Not that I would expect an admission or anything.
