I've shot a fair amount in south central Utah & have gotten similar comments 
about some of those images, especially those shot in canyons under optimum 
lighting.  It's hard for those who haven't experienced those colors to 
appreciate what can be captured.

Some of what Pal has posted remind me of Galen Rowell's work < 
http://www.mountainlight.com/gallery.html> in regards to the light & color 
in the images.

I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion just putting my $.02 forward.

Whatever you are trying to acheive it's not working, the degree of
saturation that I'm seeing really detracts from what are otherwise a
spectacular set of landscape images. They just do not look remotely
realistic.
