No, definitely not. I consider the LX a step forward
from my MZ-30.  I love everything about it.  But if
you're the type of person who likes auto-everything,
it's not really the camera for you.  It really depends
what you want.  The MZ-30 was far too automated for
me, but that is just my opinion.  Heaps of people like
a camera that is fully automated.  I, on the other
hand, like to know that I created a beautiful photo
because of the settings I chose.  With my LX, I can.

But you are probably getting a very biased view from
this list. LX'es are extremely popular here. Hey, you
are talking to someone who was converted solely by
this list, having never heard of the LX before.  Now I
own one, and am absolutely thrilled by it.  There is
such a difference in the photos I am taking.
